Exciting, thriving, friendly
We are based in the west end of Glasgow and are one of Scotland's largest hockey clubs, with over 250 active players across our men’s and ladies’ clubs. Our Junior section welcomes over one hundred children each Sunday, while our Wednesday Futures programme sees another hundred boys and girls to learn new skills from our fantastic coaches. All three sections hold Silver Accreditation with Scottish Hockey.
Whether you are based in Glasgow and fancy a new challenge, or moving to the city and need to find a new set of teammates, we have something for you. We pride ourselves on offering an environment that supports high performance athletes, beginners and everything in between.
Known across Scotland for our active social calendar, our highlights aren’t just on the pitch. The Annual Awards Dinner, Hallowe’en, Ronnie’s Quiz, the Race Night and the West End Treasure Hunt are staple events but we love a Saturday night back at our clubhouse, Woodend BLTC, to get together and find out how the matches went.
Our club
Our men’s club has seven outdoor teams and four indoor teams competing across all levels in Scotland, from the Scottish Premiership to West District 4.
The ladies’ club has five outdoor teams and two indoor teams also competing across all available levels from Scottish Premiership and beyond.
Our thriving juniors’ section meets on Sunday mornings and regularly has over one hundred children attending each week. The juniors participate in hockey festivals throughout the season.
Everyone is welcome
We participate across all levels of Scottish Hockey, both 1st teams compete in their respective Scottish Premiership leagues and we have teams at every level in the system.
Hillhead Hockey Club is the only hockey club registered with LEAP Sports Scotland who work for greater inclusion for LGBTI people in sport and against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in a sports context.
